Careful work through difficult access
The property had no practical route for a wheelbarrow or machinery. The old paving, excavated material and new supplies were carried by hand through the house. Floors and the access route were protected during the work.
A rebuilt base, drainage and porcelain finish
After removing the damaged paving, sand and unsuitable material, the team cleared vegetation and roots. The new patio base used a geotextile membrane, Type 3 granite hardcore and approximately 12 inches of Type 1 granite hardcore, compacted in layers. A new drainage system and charcoal porcelain edging were installed. Each porcelain slab was primed and laid on a full concrete bed, then finished with resin jointing.
